SAG Awards viewers cringe as 'Breaking Bad' star Bob Odenkirk behaves bizarrely on stage
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bob Odenkirk left the audience perplexed with his odd onstage behavior at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG). When the acclaimed actor reunited with his former 'Breaking Bad' castmates to present a major award, fans expected playful antics from the stars.
Instead, Odenkirk baffled viewers by refusing to participate in a planned bit with his co-stars, lashing out with surprising bluntness. His unexplained stonewalling of the comedy skit garnered stunned reactions on social media, leaving followers confused by the out-of-character conduct from the normally affable star, as per The Sun.
They are the danger. This Breaking Bad reunion was everything.

Bob Odenkirk refused to go along with planned humor
As the cast of the hit AMC drama came together to present the award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, they attempted a lighthearted gag playing off the word "ensemble." However, Odenkirk, 61, refused to participate, leaving both his castmates and the audience baffled.
The skit began with Bryan Cranston mentioning that it had been 10 years since 'Breaking Bad' won the same award they were about to announce. Anna Gunn then started spelling "ensemble," assigning a meaning to each letter related to acting. But when it came to Odenkirk to continue the bit, he bluntly rejected it.
"N stands for no, no f***ing way I'm gonna do this cheesy thing where you say each letter of the word. I'm not doing it," Odenkirk declared.
His co-stars Aaron Paul and Dean Norris tried reasoning with him to follow the teleprompter, but he remained firm. Norris then made a crude quip about having "a beer and a couple shots backstage" to move things along.
Ultimately, the cast presented the award to 'Succession' without completing the planned humor. But Odenkirk’s unexplained defiance of the bit left many viewers scratching their heads.
Notably, in 2021, Odenkirk suffered a heart attack on set while filming his spin-off series 'Better Call Saul', stopping production for weeks while he recovered.
Internet reacts to Odenkirk's on-stage antics
Following the unexpected on-stage antics by Odenkirk at the SAG Awards, the internet erupted with a flurry of reactions. One perplexed user on Reddit humorously questioned, "Was the Breaking Bad cast doing a bit? lol I'm confused."
Another user expressed frustration, stating, "The teleprompter failed AGAIN. You think they would fix it." A different user admitted, "Yea, that was awkward. Odenkirk made me cringe."
Adding to the perplexity, someone noted, "Ya super bizarre behavior; I was so confused. Stupid teleprompter; you could tell he was pissed, which is weird because he is usually quite jolly. I wonder if he is okay?"
Amid the reactions, another user injected a positive note, saying, "So glad to see Bob actually get to be on stage this awards season."
