Gracie Hunt claims Patrick Mahomes is influenced by Harrison Butker's faith
On OutKick’s 'Gaines for Girls' podcast, hosted by Riley Gaines, Gracie Hunt praised Harrison Butker and said, “Harrison is an amazing guy, and the most kind, genuine person. He is an awesome family man, they're so sweet and precious.”
She continued, “I think what's been really cool to see this year, especially, is that it's such a sense of iron sharpening iron.”
The Chiefs heiress added, “Harrison and his boldness in his faith encourages other guys to be bold in their faith. You've seen Patrick be so bold in his faith and thanking God right off the bat when we won the AFC Championship.”
She went on to say that boldness empowers boldness and “it's just so refreshing to see, and I think he's such a light to everybody around him.”
Harrison Butker’s controversial remarks from 2024
Notably, Harrison Butker drew criticism last offseason after he gave a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College. He said the women receiving their degrees were most likely more excited to get married and have children, per the outlet.
Moreover, he took jibes at former president Joe Biden for his stance on abortion and his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic after Catholic leaders claimed they were “pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America.”
He further accused world leaders of “pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America” and praised the students at Benedictine for embracing their religion with pride, and “not the deadly sin sort of pride that has an entire month dedicated to it,” Forbes reported.
Butker went on to criticize the Catholic church, Bishops, and Priests for “misleading their flocks” by giving priority to familiarity with their parishioners instead of teaching. He quoted Taylor Swift, teammate Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, and said, “Familiarity breeds contempt.”
Interestingly, he recently talked about his remarks from last year and said, “God has given me this platform and I'm going to say what I believe to be true and what I hold close to my heart.”
He added, “Anything that comes, I'm blessed to be on the Chiefs and be in another Super Bowl. A lot of guys had different opinions about it but we all love each other in that locker room. We all know who we are.”
Butker also said, “All the guys understood where I was coming from. They respect me. They respect what I have to say. And I have nothing to apologize for.”
