CNN cancels Chris Licht's morning show following Don Lemon and Kaitlan Collins exits
ATALANTA, GEORGIA: New CNN executives have canceled the morning show that was the centerpiece of former head Chris Licht’s plan to revamp the struggling network, as per Page Six.
Breakfast TV specialist Licht built the flagship 'CNN This Morning' around veteran anchors Don Lemon and Poppy Harlow, as well as up-and-comer Kaitlan Collins.

However, it quickly became a flashpoint of drama and intrigue with reports of on-set clashes between the hosts, and Lemon was publicly rebuked by Licht after he famously suggested presidential hopeful Nikki Haley was “past her prime.”
Page Six reports that on the morning of February 5, a memo was circulated, revealing that Kasie Hunt, the early morning anchor, will now be allocated an additional hour under the 'CNN This Morning' banner.
Simultaneously, 'CNN News Central', which traditionally followed the aforementioned program, will be rescheduled to bridge the resulting gap.
Harlow stands as the lone remaining member of the original team.
Lemon faced a dramatic termination in April of the preceding year, Collins transitioned to her primetime show, and Licht, after a tumultuous year-long leadership, was also dramatically dismissed in June from the helm of the global news network.
CNN denies cancellation but announces overhaul of 'CNN This Morning' with new anchors
The current hosts of 'CNN This Morning', Harlow and Phil Mattingly, are slated to exit the morning airwaves, although sources indicate they have been extended alternative roles.
Before moving on to 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert', Licht had previously revamped the successful shows 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC and 'CBS This Morning'.
It's been reported that a significant portion of his time and effort during his short tenure was dedicated to reviving the CNN morning show, a persistent challenge for the network over the years.
In August, Licht was succeeded by Mark Thompson, the former head of BBC.
CNN representatives contested claims of the show's cancellation, asserting that it is "inaccurate" to characterize it as such. Instead, they explained that "CNN This Morning" has undergone a substantial reduction in duration and has been assigned a new anchor.
In light of these recent developments, Netizens have taken to social media, writing their views with some of them reading, "Just cancel CNN!"
"It took them long enough. I haven't watched since Don Lemon left. I miss you Anderson," another said.
"Hilarious!! They lie continuously and America has finally caught on," added another one.
"Morning with clowns," another user said.
