Trump trolled for claiming Democrats can 'infiltrate' NH primary amid fears of Nikki Haley's gains
CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Former President Donald Trump pushed forward another false claim ahead of the upcoming New Hampshire Republican primary, reported ABC News.
Amid Nikki Haley gaining ground in the Granite State, the GOP frontrunner alleged that the Democrats could vote in the January 23 primary and "infiltrate" the process.
"Independents and Democrats are allowed to vote, so in order to try and stop Trump, they go out, and they sign up, and they can sign up very easily," Trump claimed in an appearance on Fox News' 'Hannity' on Thursday, January 18.
"And so somebody should have stopped it, " he added.
The former President reiterated the false claims a day after he accused Haley of depending on Democrats and liberals to boost her voter support in New Hampshire.
Despite his resounding victory in the Iowa caucus, Trump is facing strong competition from the former South Carolina Governor in New Hampshire. Furthermore, the endorsement from NH Governor Chris Sununu added to her momentum.
A CNN report debunked Trump's claims false. Registered Democrats are eligible to vote in the New Hampshire GOP primary; only independents and Republicans can.
Donald Trump accuses Chris Sununu of allowing election 'fraud'
According to ABC News, Trump also attacked Gov Sununu for allowing them to commit election "fraud" in the Granite state's GOP primary.
"Governor Chris Sununu … should spend more time keeping Democrats from voting in the Republican Primary," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform on Friday, January 19.
Reiterating the rhetoric, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told ABC News, "President Trump is absolutely correct when he says Nikki Haley is relying on liberals and Democrats to infiltrate because that's who she appeals to."

Trump's recent speeches have tried to paint Haley as a presidential candidate supported by Biden's donors and her campaign being funded by "bad money."
