Eric Trump claims ‘Kamala Crash’ foreshadows a ‘storm’ if Harris wins 2024 presidential election
WASHINGTON, DC: Eric Trump cautioned that this week's stock market chaos, which his father, former president Donald Trump, labeled the "Kamala Crash", signaled a larger "storm" ahead if Vice President Kamala Harris wins in November.
"We live in a country that has a huge leak in the roof," Eric told the New York Post. "And now imagine there's a storm coming, because there's always a storm coming. My father and I think it's better to fix the damn hole before you start changing the crown molding in the basement. That's what Harris wants to do."
Earlier this week, Wall Street plunged as weak economic data sparked fears of a looming US recession, affecting global markets. In addition, the US Labor Department said that only 114,000 employees were added to the economy last month, with the unemployment rate skyrocketing since October 2021 at 4.3%.
Eric Trump claims market will boom if Donald Trump wins
Eric Trump attributed the Wall Street nosedive to the sudden entry of Kamala Harris into the 2024 presidential race. President Joe Biden exited the race last month, endorsing his vice president for the Democratic ticket.
Harris, who secured enough delegate support for the nomination, picked Minnesota Gov Tim Walz as her running mate on August 5.
Eric asserted that the market plunge happened because Harris was put on a pedestal after initially being laughed at. He added if his father secured a second term, the markets would rally.
The former president's son also claimed his father's second term would positively impact business owners, who hesitated about another Democratic term.
"You know what the markets like, they like low taxes, they like low regulation. They like government staying the hell out of their way. They like somebody actually cheerleading for this country. They like investments in infrastructure for low energy prices. Energy costs factor into every single modern business in a major way," Eric said.
He added that based on his conversations with economic leaders, the past four years were hardly ideal for many industries that faced loss compared to the Trump administration.
Besides the economy, Eric also weighed in on public safety, referring to the assassination attempt his father narrowly escaped from during a Pennsylvania rally in July.
Though Eric holds no formal roles in Donald's campaign, he was the introductory speaker at last month's Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Internet disagrees with Eric Trump's warning about a Kamala Harris win
Outraged at Eric Trump's warning of an incoming "storm" in the event of Kamala Harris' victory, netizens dismissed his claims and slammed the former president's son.
"Sounds like more fearmongering," a user said.
"What does that even mean? And there was no Kamala Crash," another opined.
"Perhaps the storm could create some separation from the insanity," read a third response.
"'Kamala Crash'? Market has already rebounded. This bozo has no idea what he’s talking about," added a fourth user.
