NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Nicki Minaj, the undisputed queen of hip-hop, had to make the difficult decision to cancel her highly-anticipated concert in New Orleans just hours before she was set to take the stage.

The 41-year-old rap superstar, who has been on her blockbuster 'Pink Friday 2' World Tour, was forced to pull out of the show at the Smoothie King Center due to a severe bout of the flu, as per Daily Mail.

While the news left thousands of fans in the Big Easy disappointed, the internet was quick to rally behind Minaj, showering her with love, support, and well-wishes as she recovers from her illness.

According to a source close to Minaj, the rapper had been battling the illness for several days, even pushing through her performance at the Rolling Loud festival on Friday, March 15.

"Nicki has been very sick with the flu for the last few days. She started getting sick last week and pulled through for the Rolling Loud festival show. Unfortunately, after the show, she found out she had the flu and only got worse," the source revealed to Daily Mail.

Despite her unwavering commitment to her craft and her dedicated fanbase, Minaj had no choice but to prioritize her health. The source remarked, "Canceling the shows is the last thing she would want to do to the fans, but she had no choice."

Ticketmaster and Nicki Minaj have refrained from publicly addressing the cancellation

Fox 8 in New Orleans was the initial source to report the sudden cancelation of the concert, having received information from staff at the arena. However, no official explanation or details regarding rescheduling were offered at that time.

Both Ticketmaster and Minaj herself have refrained from publicly addressing the cancelation, leaving fans uncertain about the situation. Fox 8 also reported that Ticketmaster did not confirm the cancelation or provide any means to contact a representative regarding the matter.

Minaj's 'Pink Friday 2' World Tour commenced earlier this month, generating excitement among fans for her scheduled performance in New Orleans. Earlier on the tour, Minaj surprised attendees at her Las Vegas show by inviting her longtime collaborator, Tyga, as a special guest, further building anticipation for the remaining tour dates.
