Harris says 'new generation of leadership' sets her apart from Biden, Internet calls it 'word salad'
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Vice President Kamala Harris, in her first solo interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, boasted that her "new generation of leadership" differentiated her from President Joe Biden.
The 59-year-old sat down to answer five questions from ABC News' local affiliate 6abc WPVI-TV on Friday, September 13, days after her debate against former president Donald Trump.
WPVI-TV Philadelphia's anchor Brian Taff asked Harris to point out the one or two policy areas or approaches that distinguished her from Biden.
"Well, I'm obviously not Joe Biden," Harris responded. "I offer a new generation of leadership."
KAMALA HARRIS: I offer a new generation of leadership. And, so, for example, thinking about - developing - an opportunity economy, where, it's about - investing in lot areas that really need a lot of work, and maybe focusing on - again - the aspirations and the dreams - but also… pic.twitter.com/OVxQP3G5uj

In her attempt to provide an example of how she differed from her 81-year-old boss on policy approaches, the vice president entered a word salad on assisting families for child development by raising child credit tax to $6,000 and claiming her focus was to catch up to the 21st century.
Kamala Harris claims Trump's 'hate and division' led anti-Trump Republicans to support her
Differentiating herself from Joe Biden, Kamala Harris also touted how her leadership style contradicted her Republican opponent.
"I also believe that I am accurate in knowing that most Americans want a leader who brings us together as Americans and not someone who professes to be a leader who is trying to have us point our fingers at each other," she remarked, criticizing Trump.
She further implied support from anti-Trump GOP members like former Rep Liz Cheney and her father, former vice president Dick Cheney's endorsement was prompted by their exhaustion with the MAGA leader.
"I think people are more willing now, in light of the hate and division that we see coming out of Donald Trump to say, ‘Hey, let’s put country first' and I think that just makes us stronger and more healthy as a country," the VP added.
Harris, who was criticized over her lack of media appearance by Trump and his running mate JD Vance, made her first televised interview in Pennslyvania amid her campaign there.
Last month, the Democratic candidate and her running mate, Minnesota Gov Tim Walz, sat down for a joint interview on CNN.
Harris, who served as San Francisco district attorney, California attorney general, and US Senator from the Golden State, first ran against Biden in the 2020 Democratic primary before joining him as a running mate.
Following his poor performance in a debate against Trump, the president ended his reelection bid, passing on the torch for the nomination to Harris.
Internet ridicules Kamala Harris for boasting she offers 'new generation of leadership'
Netizens brutally ridiculed Kamala Harris for claiming she was different from Biden because she offered "a new generation of leadership." Some noted how long she was in politics to retort her assertion.
"Train Wreck, complete train wreck. Buzz words don't explain policies," a user said.
"The word salad queen. This is all she can do because she is really quite ignorant," another commented.

"Why she keep claiming she offers a new generation of leadership as though she has not been in politics since the early 2000 and is pushing 60?" another remarked.
"New generation of leadership, Kamala? You’re the CURRENT generation of leadership!" an individual said.
