WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett boldly confronted right-wing firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene after personal attacks on her appearance during a late-night hearing.

Crockett labeled Greene's comments about 'fake eyelashes' as 'racist' and warned her, "Don't come for me."

What sparked the clash between Jasmine Crockett and Marjorie Taylor Greene?

The clash occurred during a hearing to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, where Greene ridiculed Crockett for her appearance, saying, "I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you're reading."

Crockett addressed the issue head-on, highlighting the racial undertones of Greene's behavior, stating, "It was absolutely racist."

"I think her specifically doing it to me, yes, that was the intent. [Women] wear all types of things to beautify ourselves, but MAGA has historically been on social media doing the things where they're saying 'oh she's Black with lashes and nails and hair and so she's ghetto,'" the congresswoman stated.

"To me, this was her buying into that rhetoric and trying to amplify this for the MAGA crowd, and so yeah, I absolutely think that she only did it to be racist towards me."

Expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of consequences for Greene, Crockett challenged the committee's chairman regarding personal attacks, directing her comments toward Greene.

She defended her response, stating, "I signed up to be a member of Congress but not to be disrespected."

Additionally, Crockett pondered Greene's potential intentions, implying that the Georgia representative could exploit the situation for financial benefits, remarking, "The racists are gonna be so happy to give it to her."

Crockett also pointed out Greene's selective criticism, observing that she had not singled out other colleagues in a comparable fashion.

Further, Crockett initiated activism in response to Greene's attacks, launching a fundraising campaign for Democrats and creating a 'Crockett Clapback Collection' of merchandise. With a background in law, Crockett's vocal opposition to injustice and discrimination has garnered widespread support.

Prominent figures like progressive Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez condemned Greene's actions, highlighting the racial dynamics at play.

The committee chairman, James Comer, faced challenges managing the heated exchanges during the hearing, citing difficulties due to hearing impairments.

Netizens back Jasmine Crockett's stance against Marjorie Taylor Greene

A user tweeted, "Watching bigoted individuals get caught, held accountable, and dragged is more than satisfying." Another added, "I'm glad the two women stood up to MTG because no one republican does, she only brings the party down into the trash bin."

A third questioned, "Lol, are fake eyelashes a distinctive race thing?"

"Also, there are no other Republicans confronting her about being a disgrace to the party. The same principle applies to corrupt police officers; if the upright ones remain silent, they are all seen as complicit in the corruption," a user simply wrote.

"They don’t want to claim MTGks attack was racism yet they are quick to call her a DEI hire…..," read a tweet. "DEI is just a way white supremacists get away with saying the N-Word," stated a user.

"Much respect for Crockett going full ghetto because MTG commented on her eyelashes. It would have served the ghetto thug to rise above the comment but her and AOC went full ghetto. No respect!" tweeted a user.
