'His chaos helps them': Internet backs Biden as he claims modern media is ‘worried about attacking’ Trump
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: During an hour-long interview with Howard Stern, President Joe Biden criticized some within the mainstream media for being overly “worried” about “attacking” former president Donald Trump.
The White House announced the 81-year-old Commander-In-Chief’s live interview with the renowned radio show host shortly before its airtime last Friday, April 26.

President Biden talked about his early days as a public defender and senator, as well as his personal life, including losing his son Beau, his daughter Naomi, and his first wife Neila, Mediaite reported.
While Stern mostly conversed with the incumbent POTUS on personal topics during the interview, the discussion eventually turned to Biden's likely November election opponent, which prompted the Democrat statesman to accuse the "modern media" of being too soft on Trump.
What did Biden say about ‘modern media’ while talking about Trump?
“One of the things is there are no editors anymore!” President Biden exclaimed while pointing out the obvious failings within “modern media.”
The President of the United States revealed that he would be invoking Thomas Jefferson and celebrating the concept of a "free press" in a sneak peek at his prepared remarks for 2024's White House Correspondents Dinner that took place on Saturday, April 27, night.

Biden argued, “The free press is not speaking up as much as it used to.”
The President did not mention any specific sites, outlets, or coverage, but did say, "I think some of them are worried about attacking him, worried about taking him on."

President Joe Biden’s recent comments about the media were not directed toward any particular outlet.
Nonetheless, his remarks followed a Politico report that was based on information from numerous sources, which suggested that there is some sort of "cold war" going on between the White House and The New York Times.

The main point of contention between the two aforementioned parties is over the coverage of former president Donald Trump.
One suggestion in the report was that the Times publisher, AG Sulzberger, was quietly promoting negative stories about President Joe Biden.
In a statement to @semafor, a New York Times spokesperson pushes back on this, saying "the notion that any line of coverage has been ordered up or encouraged in retaliation for declining an interview, or any other reason, is outrageous and untrue." https://t.co/ALy9CKkk1u pic.twitter.com/oPzRxLkXfV

The reason behind this was said to be that Biden had declined to be interviewed by the paper.
The New York Times has denied this allegation in a statement, and many reporters have pushed back against the claim as well.
