NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC decided not to air its left-leaning talk show 'Morning Joe' on Monday, July 15, following an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend on July 13.

The show, hosted by Joe Scarborough and his wife Mika Brzezinski, will resume on Tuesday, July 16 despite the Republican National Convention starting Monday.

“As we continue to cover this story into the week, the networks will continue to cross simulcast, alternating between NBC News, NBC News NOW and ‘MSNBC Reports’, so there is one news feed covering this developing situation," The Hill reported.

MSNBC put off 'Morning Joe' to avoid inappropriate comments from being broadcasted live

The decision to pull 'Morning Joe' was made to prevent any potentially inappropriate comments from the show's numerous guests that could be detrimental to the program and the network, per CNN.

"It made more sense to continue airing rolling breaking news coverage in the fraught political moment," a source told the network. However, The Hill reported the network spokesperson has denied this report.

The decision was jointly made by NBC Universal News Group chairman Cesar Conde, MSNBC president Rashida Jones, and the hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Former President Donald Trump called for unity after the shooting at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally, posting on Truth Social, “In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win.”

Internet says MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' should be put off 'forever'

Online reactions have intensified, with users sharing outrage over the show's rhetoric of stoking flames. Some users demanded the show should be pulled off permanently from airing.

"Their rhetoric has been stoking the flames for years. Good riddance," wrote one on X.

“Even MSNBC knows how crazy that show is," joked one user.

Another commented, "Should be forever. Then do Joy Reid, Nicole Wallace, and The View."

Some accused the show of being complicit in the violence, with one user stating, "So, they recognize it’s a toxic show and they had a part in inciting violence …. Yet, it’ll air on Tuesday."

One suggested the narrative was changing after the assassination attempt, with that the "Controlling [of] the Media begins." One wrote it is a "clown show."

One more wrote criticizing the show's guests, "I think you mean because they know their guests have no self-control and are likely to say something heinous."
