RACINE, WISCONSIN: Vivek Ramaswamy drew a parallel between Donald Trump and the first US President, George Washington, suggesting that the 2024 general election is akin to a "1776 moment."

On Tuesday, June 18, during a surprise appearance at Trump's rally in Racine, Wisconsin, the biotech entrepreneur asserted that the presumptive GOP nominee is facing persecution similar to what the Founding Fathers experienced under Great Britain and urged supporters to vote for him in November.

The former 2024 GOP presidential contender also speculated that President Joe Biden may not end up being the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate in November, according to Daily Mail.

Ramaswamy addressed the animated crowd saying, "Dig deep and ask yourself why it is that our Founding Fathers made the sacrifices they did 250 years ago. 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. We don't often ask what became of them."

He continued, "I'm going to tell you what happened to them; 12 of them had their homes ransacked by the British and burned down to the ground, five of them were captured by the British and tortured to their deaths, nine of them died in the Revolutionary war, three more of them had their own kids die in the Revolutionary War, many of them died bankrupt because they had their own private property seized before their deaths."

"They made those sacrifices in 1776 and I believe today it's a 1776 moment in 2024 and Donald Trump is the George Washington of our moment," stressed the former Republican presidential candidate.

Ramaswamy repeatedly invoked the rhetoric during his campaign trail as he rallied his supporters around what he called the "ideals of 1776," contending that Americans should embrace a "1776 moment" to push back against "wokeness," referring to progressive policies around identity and social equality.

Ramaswamy wrote on X (formerly Twitter) around 30 minutes before reaching the rally site at Racine Festival Park, "Just landed in Wisconsin. Critical state this year. Headed to rally in Racine shortly. Should be fun."

Thousands turned up for the campaign event, which took place roughly 30 miles south of Milwaukee.

Ramaswamy began his speech by saying he would not focus on criticizing President Biden's record.

"I'm not going to sit here railing against Joe Biden because chances are, let's be honest, he might not be the nominee that we're running against," claimed the entrepreneur.

Tuesday’s Wisconsin rally follows Trump's Manhattan felony conviction in which he was found guilty of 34 felony charges related to the falsification of business records linked to a hush money payment to Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The 78-year-old MAGA strongman is set to return to Wisconsin next month for the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he is expected to officially secure the party's nomination for the 2024 election.

Wisconsin is a crucial battleground state and holds significant importance in the 2024 presidential election.

In 2016, Trump won Wisconsin by a narrow margin of 0.7%, but in 2020, the state voted in favor of President Biden

Internet reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy comparing Donald Trump to George Washington

One remarked, "Vivek Ramaswamy is one of the most well-spoken and intelligent people who should be the VP . IF Trump had Vivek as his VP that would be a POWERHOUSE!!!"

"Washington was a war hero and venerated two-term president famous for his inability to tell a lie. Trump was a draft dodger and disgraced former president who was fired after just one term for incompetence and poor performance and is famous for his inability to tell the truth," argued a person.

Someone else opined, "The only logical reason I can see why this insanity continues is that the wealthy want us in the majority to accept a political world that benefits them financially."

"Phatmaswampy shouldnt be trusted. He is a con artist," wrote one more, while another person remarked, "I honestly don't know if I have the stomach to keep watching this rubbish."

On his claim that Biden might not secure the Democratic nomination, an individual wrote, "His claim - that Biden will not be the nominee - is not shocking, as there are many who share that sentiment."

Another supporter claimed, "He’s not wrong Biden didn’t win the last election."
