Karoline Leavitt snaps at reporter over ‘stupid’ question about Trump's stance on peaceful protests

WASHINGTON, DC: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt found herself in hot water as she snapped at a reporter over a "stupid" question about Donald Trump's stance on a "peaceful protest" on Saturday, June 14, during a military parade in Washington, DC, which will coincide with President’s 79th birthday.
Leavitt, 27, held a press briefing amid the ongoing tensions over Trump's immigration crackdown in Los Angeles. She accused Democrats of being behind "left-wing riots" and reiterated the POTUS' claim that many of the demonstrators were "paid insurrectionists."

Karoline Leavitt snaps at reporter over 'stupid' question
Things became heated at the press briefing when Karoline Leavitt was questioned by NOTUS reporter Jasmine Wright about the military parade celebrating 250 years of the Army, according to The Mirror.
Trump had earlier threatened to use "heavy force" against protestors who rained on his parade, with hundreds of counter-rallying anticipated across the nation.

“If there were peaceful protests on Saturday for the military parade, President Trump would allow that?” Wright asked.
Leavitt challenged the reporter, saying, "Of course, the president supports peaceful protests. What a stupid question.”
"Absolutely supports peaceful protests. He supports the First Amendment. He supports the right of Americans to make their voices heard. He does not support violence of any kind," she snapped at the reporter.

"He does not support assaulting law enforcement officers who are simply trying to do their job. It's very clear for the president what he supports and what he does not," she lectured further.
The press secretary grinned at the camera after her remarks, as Wright was caught looking visibly shocked at her answers.
Leavitt later veered off the conversation to bash the Democrats, saying, "Unfortunately for Democrats, that line has not been made clear, and they've allowed this unrest and this violence to continue, and the president has had to step in.”

“If there were peaceful protests on Saturday for the military parade... of course, the President supports peaceful protests," she added,
Karoline Leavitt storms out of press briefing over a question about free speech
Following Wright’s testy question, The New York Times’ David Sanger raised a question over free speech, asking Leavitt about what kind of protest Trump supports, according to the Daily Beast.
“Is the First Amendment the most important? Is stopping violence the most important? Why is he not out saying all peaceful protesters will be protected?” Sanger asked.
Leavitt mentioned that the Commander-in-Chief is in support of free speech and the right to protest but “that is not the majority of the behavior that we have seen taking place in Los Angeles.”

“So are you saying the majority of these protests have not been peaceful?” Sanger continued.
Leavitt then reminded out that about 400 illegal aliens had been apprehended, to which Sanger responded that there had been thousands of people on the streets.
Following a brief exchange of words, Leavitt declared that the president would not deviate from his goal of removing illegal immigrants from the nation before storming out of the briefing without answering any further questions.
Karoline Leavitt slammed for snapping at reporter
Karoline Leavitt faced backlash online after she snapped at the reporter. "Grandma, there are no stupid questions," one X user posted.
"She is unprofessional and rude," another said.
"The Reporter was using a follow-up question to clarify as she should. The President was ambiguous when he made statements yesterday that basically intimated that Protesters would be punished if they protested or intervened. PressSec response was unprofessional and immature," one person pointed out.
"Fire her immediately or issue a full apology and disciplinary actions," another remarked.
Someone else wrote, ""What a stupid question" with the flip of her hair and pursing her lips...She's every bit as vile as the rest of them..."
"This woman is on the wrong side of history and will forever be judged as such, and the hair flipping is annoying," another commented.
"What a stupid Princess of lies," one netizen declared.
