COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA: Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, received a negative response from the audience through loud booing after former President Donald Trump acknowledged him during his victory speech following the South Carolina Republican Primary.

Although Graham has been a long-standing supporter of the former president, the crowd reacted unfavorably when Trump referred to him as "a little bit further left than some of the people on this stage."

In jest, Trump urged Sen Graham to join him onstage, but his fervent supporters continued to jeer, per a report by DailyMail.

The 77-year-old MAGA figurehead pushed back, saying, "I love him. He's a good man."

What did Lindsey Graham say when he joined Donald Trump onstage?

Graham addressed the crowd as they gradually turned to cheering, “The nightmare you're facing is just about over. Help is on the way. This is the most qualified man to be President of the United States.”

Speaking with reporters on Saturday before the polls closed, Sen Graham remarked, “Republicans have made up their mind.”

Graham stated that while he admires and respects Nikki Haley, it would be best if she withdrew from the presidential race as soon as possible.

On Saturday night, February 24, Donald Trump promptly approached the podium to address his supporters following a sweeping victory in the South Carolina GOP primary.

With this win, the former POTUS has secured a clean sweep of the four early primary contests in the Republican presidential primary.

“This was a little sooner than we anticipated,” Trump joked before an audience of enthusiastic supporters.

Within a minute of the polls closing at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, the results were announced in favor of Trump, marking an embarrassing loss for Nikki Haley.

Trump's victory adds to the momentum he has gained from his wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada earlier in the year.

The outcome of the primary election in Haley's home state represents the first time in over 50 years that a Republican candidate has lost such an election.

Richard Nixon previously experienced defeat in California's primary, losing to Ronald Reagan, who was also from California.

During her speech on the 'State of the Race' on Tuesday, February 20, Haley announced that she was “far from” ending her candidacy, despite her underwhelming performance in the primaries and poor polling results which placed her far behind Trump in both national and state elections.

The former two-term governor of South Carolina stated that she intends to remain in the 2024 Republican primary until Super Tuesday, which falls on March 5th.

On that day, 15 states will hold primary elections simultaneously, offering 874 delegates in total.

Another user wrote: "Bad move Trump."

One user said: "Lindsey is awful!!!"

Another X user argued: "If Trump wants support from people who can't stand to look at Graham, he should stop promoting him. Has he learned nothing from the past. Does Trump not get the fact that the guy is tainted."

Finally, this user tweeted: "Surprised he likes him because he is a warmonger of the worst kind."
