PARIS, FRANCE: Meghan Markle was mocked for her walk as she came in for the Paris Fashion Week. She even faced flak as her team promoted her presence at the fashion show was her “first time back to fashion shows in over ten years."

The last time she appeared in the fashion circuit was in 2015, when she was known as an actress for 'Suits'.

Cut to the present, the Duchess of Sussex spent the weekend excitedly sharing behind-the-scenes moments from her front row spot at Paris Fashion Week, chatting with industry giants, practicing her French, and snacking on fries with her team.

Her team proudly stated it “marks her first time back to the shows in over a decade”. But her time at the shows back in 2015 was in Toronto and not in Paris. Back then, she was only a ‘Suits’ actress who posed alongside DJs and content creators.

The first video she posted on her Instagram story was on Saturday evening, October 4, sharing a glimpse of her $1,000 Balenciaga 'knife' heels, as she walked out of the $2,500-per-night Plaza Athenee hotel.

Critics compare Meghan Markle to 'Zoolander'

But critics compared the duchess to Zoolander, the dim-witted character made famous by Ben Stiller in the 2001 hit comedy of the same name.

"Meghan Markle is trying to give Zoolander a run for his supermodel walk," one said, according to The Daily Mail which cited from a comment section that has now been disabled.

Other commentators ridiculed her for being self-obsessed and appearing to make the show all about herself.

“Meghan, you're not a model; they're simply just walking you to your seat! Meghan walking with her cape like she's the second coming of the Messiah,” one wrote.

Another said, “This marks her first time back to the shows in over a decade? What a load of rubbish! She has never been to Paris Fashion Week!”

One reader advised her saying, "If you want to walk like a lady you should take lessons of KATE the PERFECT LADY."

One person critiqued her appearance as well saying, "Aside from the white monstrosity and her ridiculous sashay she looks she has a new VERY tight jawline. Amazing what a little contouring can do."

Meanwhile, the duchess also faced backlash for attending the Balenciaga fashion show, even though the brand was cancelled for a controversial ad depicting children.

She was also criticized for an 'utterly bewildering' clip that she posted on her Instagram story, which showed her feet resting on the leather seats of a limo as she drove away from the event in Paris.

The clip, which appears to have been taken by herself, showed her taking the same route once travelled by her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, whose journey ended in tragedy as her driver smashed into a pillar in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in 1997.

Commentators were quick to slam her for the “disrespectful” video, branding it as “beyond stupid and insensitive beyond belief”.
