MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: 'Morning Joe' co-host Mika Brzezinski firmly defended President Joe Biden against criticism from fellow Democrats stating only he "can tell us what needs to happen next."

The MSNBC morning show's 6 am segment began with critical reports from Axios and Politico, highlighting the dissatisfaction of the Democrats with the White House's handling of the post-debate media firestorm of the presumptive Democratic nominee.

White House aides turn to 'Morning Joe' amid Biden's debate disaster

According to Axios, President Biden regularly has his top aides watch Joe Scarborough's show for policy insights while Willie Geist interviewed White House's Eli Stokols, who reported on significant frustration among senior aides blamed for isolating the president.

Amid increasing calls from Democrats for Biden to end his reelection bid following his shaky debate performance, Brzezinski described the situation as "delicate." She urged for patience, noting that it had been less than a week since Biden's challenging night and that everyone needed to calm down.

Speaking to co-host Willie Geist, she said, "So let’s just break this down a little bit, Willie. I just have a few thoughts after the first hour and what I just saw. You know, after a moment like this, only President Biden can tell us what needs to happen next or can show us, and I think a lot of this surmising out loud whether he should or shouldn’t is kind of useless."

He added, "I know we’re in a time crunch, but this needs a week or two so everyone can see what they need to see."

She also mentioned that Biden might be affected by his son Hunter Biden's recent conviction while he was traveling abroad, explaining why Hunter was present at White House meetings:

Brzezinski defended Hunter Biden staying close to his father, citing emotional trauma and jet lag from traveling across 12 time zones when Hunter was convicted on felony counts, arguing that this situation is understandable and compared it to Trump involving his family in his administration.

Mik Brzezinski wants calls to remove Biden to 'slow down'

Mika Brzezinski wanted nervous Democrats and voters to put things in perspective, defending Hunter Biden's close relationship with his father during a difficult time and comparing it to Trump involving his family in his administration.

She said, "It just feels like, number one, people need to slow down. This is a very delicate situation and there are fair questions out there. But the noise and the move to move him out when we hadn’t had a chance to really recoup and see whether this was episodic or not, and also the lack of balance at the alternative, at looking at the alternative, where there may be a thousand reasons why an editorial board would have said that [former President] Donald Trump should step out of the race, and yet that just never happens."

However, Geist pushed back saying, "I mean, without question, when you talk about the substance of what we saw last Thursday night, Donald Trump lied from start to finish, as we’ve pointed out many times."

Brzezinski agreed, acknowledging Trump's tendency to be untruthful. Geist continued, noting that despite Trump's falsehoods, many Democrats and Biden supporters were deeply troubled by Biden's performance.

He then expressed skepticism about Biden's explanation of jet lag, noting that as the leader of the free world, Biden is expected to manage such challenges effectively.

Internet rips into Mika Brzezinski's 'toxic' Joe Biden claim

Brzezinski's claims were widely criticised by the online community who did not agree with her stance on Biden's capability.

One viewer said, "Mika is just the North Korean news anchor lady in disguise."

Similarly, another observer added, "As MSNBC is such a left leaning newsroom, I'll agree."

A viewer pointed out, "‘Only President Biden Can Tell Us What Needs to Happen’. Uh, no. In fact. he's the last person we should take advice from on this subject."

Joining the discussion, a follower shared, "This is an absurd take, really. The reality is that this conversation should have happened many months ago. Now the issue is glaringly unavoidable and Brzezinski is still telling people to calm down and wait awhile. Plus, it is pure gaslighting to suggest that this is just a symptom of jetlag."

A remark underscored, "Let a senile old man tell us what has to be done. they're so screwed."

Similarly, another comment echoed, "Mika should stop hiding it and start ending her monologues/rants with a voice over of President Biden saying he approves this message. Why risk the FEC issues for these obvious political ads?"

One  individual elaborated, "Smug alert level = toxic = morning joe."
