Scheana Shay says she had a 'sleepover' with Ryan Phillippe after his divorce from Reese Witherspoon
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Vanderpump Rules' alum Scheana Shay is once again stirring the pot with tales of her brushes with Hollywood’s elite.
On the Friday, December 13, episode of her podcast 'Scheananigans', the reality TV personality gave listeners a nostalgic peek into her life as a young woman navigating the Los Angeles social scene, as per OK! Magazine.
Scheana Shay recalls mingling with Ryan Phillippe and his friend group
"I used to go to [Dan Tana's] on Thursday nights with my old roommate. She was dating Jesse Bradford, you know from 'Bring It On?'" Scheana Shay, now 39, reminisced.
"Him, Ryan Phillippe, Breckin Meyer, they had this boys group and every Thursday they would do a boys dinner and then go out to the club. So we were like, 'Well we’re going to do a girls dinner since we were only invited to the club part,'" she added.
Shay shared that she was around 22 or 23 when she found herself mingling with the likes of Ryan Phillippe and his crew.
Of the 'Cruel Intentions' actor, the Bravo star said, "He was single during the times that we were all hanging out."
In a cheeky twist, Shay confessed that she and Phillippe once had a "sleepover." However, she was quick to clarify: "We did not hook up. No, we were just friends."
Phillippe's romantic history is well-documented.
He and Reese Witherspoon sparked romance after meeting at her 21st birthday party in 1997. They got engaged in December 1998 and tied the knot in June 1999, while she was pregnant with their daughter, Ava. Their son, Deacon, was born in 2003.
The pair separated in 2006, finalizing their divorce two years later.
Scheana Shay doubled down on John Mayer hookup story
Over the years, Scheana Shay has dropped more than a few famous names into her stories.
On a past episode of 'Vanderpump Rules', she alluded to a rumored hookup with musician John Mayer, even hinting at an orgy.
The claim was swiftly contested by an insider after the episode aired, but Shay has since stood by her account and doubled down on it during an episode of her 'Scheananigans' podcast in April.
When a fan asked her about the report of Mayer being "very annoyed by the entire thing and wants nothing to do with her," Shay said, "I’m sure John doesn’t love being a storyline on 'Vanderpump Rules', but where did he deny this?" as per OK! Magazine.
She added, "When I looked at the article, it looks like they just kind of made this up. There weren’t quotes from John. There weren’t quotes from his team. There was nothing else in there."
Shay also pointed out that their alleged brief romance was covered in tabloids at the time.
"When that [resurfaced on social media recently], I was like, ‘Oh, I forgot about that.’ And nothing was ever denied then. So just interesting that The Sun is putting more rumors out and trying to dispel other things," she remarked.
Shay is now married to Brock Davies, while Mayer is rumored to have been seeing Kiernan Shipka since 2022.
