LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Donald Trump recently asked voters of New York, “What do you have to lose?” if they vote for him in the upcoming election. Stephen Colbert seems to have found the answer to this question.

During his opening monologue on 'The Late Show', the CBS host delivered a comically long list of what’s at stake.

Trump held a rally at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island on Wednesday, September 18.

“I say to the people of New York, with crime at record levels, with terrorists and criminals pouring in and with inflation eating your hearts out, vote for Donald Trump,” he said.

“What the hell do you have to lose?”

“What you’ve got to lose,” Stephen Colbert began, mockingly adjusting his glasses.

“Democracy, reproductive rights, sanity, the environment, the Department of Education, the ability to look your grandchildren in the eye, the ability to wear a red hat ever again, support from our allies, and the strategic McNugget reserve.”

Trump’s rally in Long Island was part of his efforts to sway New York, a state known for its Democratic leanings.

At the rally, Trump claimed he would win over the traditionally deep-blue state, despite losing it by 23 points in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

“Oh, people love you in New York, sir,” Colbert joked. “In fact, just this summer Trump won a unanimous vote from 12 of his peers.”

Colbert was in a particularly playful mood, also discussing the 'White Dudes for Harris' ad campaign while adopting the persona of Tony Pepperoni', a caricature focused on casual interests like “getting some brewskis and wings” and voting freely.

This bit featured a mix of Chicago and Brooklyn accents, with Colbert exclaiming, “Go f**k yourself” and getting into faux altercations over a woman named Brenda.

Stephen Colbert channels Joe Biden to mock Donald Trump

Stephen Colbert even showcased his Joe Biden impression.

After airing a clip of Trump discussing 12-cent White Castle burgers, the camera returned to Colbert in aviator sunglasses.

“What the heck? Jack, y’all kicked me out of the race for talking about old guy stuff — you know, pony soldiers and alley cats. But he gets to stay in even though he’s talking about 12-cent burgers?” Colbert quipped as Biden.

“Back in my day, a burger cost you a button and a half.”

Shifting gears, Colbert touched on the election landscape, mentioning that while Kamala Harris has been surging in the polls, “your vote doesn’t matter unless you’re in a state that swings.”

He humorously pointed out the challenges Trump faces, particularly with his endorsement of controversial candidates like Mark Robinson, who has made inflammatory comments in the past.
