Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce issue playful warning to Travis Kelce before Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Travis Kelce may be gearing up for another Super Bowl appearance, but his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and his mom, Donna Kelce, are making sure he stays focused on the game rather than the festivities in New Orleans.

In a viral video shared by The Kansas City Star, Swift and Donna were seen playfully warning the Kansas City Chiefs tight end about partying revelry before the big game, Page Six reported.

“Take me back to my old New Orleans home. I owe New Orleans a little something…” Travis reportedly told Swift and his mom while chatting on the field at Arrowhead Stadium on the night of January 26 after the Chiefs secured their 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship.

Swift, always quick-witted, immediately caught on and asked, “Are you talking about the 2010 Sugar Bowl?”

The tight end simply nodded, prompting a knowing reaction from both women.

“Yeah, no going to Bourbon Street,” Swift, 35, warned with a smile, as Donna, 72, nodded in agreement.

Travis, clearly in on the joke, reassured them, “Yeah, I won’t be having as much fun that night,” before pulling Swift closer by her waist.

He even admitted he’d be steering clear of “[hand] grenades,” the potent New Orleans cocktail made of vodka, rum, gin, and melon liqueur.

Travis Kelce reflects on 2010 Sugar Bowl suspension

Kelce’s reference to New Orleans goes back to a pivotal moment in his life.

In 2010, he was allegedly suspended from the University of Cincinnati football team after testing positive for marijuana.

As a result, he was forced to sit out the Sugar Bowl against the Florida Gators, a game he had been eager to play.

“I was down in New Orleans, listening to Lil Wayne, and I wanted to smoke what he was smoking,” he admitted in a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair.

Looking back on that time, he recalled the crushing disappointment of watching his team from the sidelines. “I’m just sitting there, dead in the water. I just wanted to get out of there. I was so embarrassed, I didn’t want to look at anybody.”

His older brother, Jason Kelce, eventually helped him straighten out, leading him back to football and setting him on the path to becoming one of the NFL’s biggest stars.

The January 26 night’s win solidified the Chiefs’ spot in their third-straight Super Bowl, where they will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Swift, dressed head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton, was front and center for the celebration, cheering from the stands and sharing sweet moments with Travis’ mom, Donna, and her own mom, Andrea Swift.

Once the game was won, Swift met Kelce on the field for an affectionate reunion.

The couple, who have been dating since summer 2023, didn’t hold back on PDA as Swift excitedly jumped up and down, celebrating alongside him.

Later that night, they continued the celebrations at Prime Social, a private afterparty spot for the Chiefs.

“Taylor and Travis were dancing together and clearly very much in love,” an insider told Page Six exclusively.

“They were kissing and looked so happy together. Everybody seemed like they had a great time.”
