NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' co-hosts had some fiery remarks to share after President Donald Trump floated the idea of seeking a third term in office.

During an NBC News interview on Sunday, March 30, the 78-year-old MAGA leader hinted that there are "methods" for doing so and emphasized that he was "not joking," even though it is too early to think about it. Trump further stated that "a lot of people would like me to" hold office for a third term.

After watching a clip from Donald Trump's NBC News interview on Monday's episode, Whoopi Goldberg delivered a reaction that had the studio audience laughing before kicking off the 'Hot Topics' segment.

"Um, is he [Trump] actually planning on this? Or is this just another way to take the headlines away from all other messes?" she asked, earning a round of applause from the crowd, as per the Daily Express. 

As the applause died down, Sunny Hostin shared her thoughts, saying, "I think he's so enamored of [Vladimir] Putin and so enamored with power that he wouldn't mind being king with a crooked crown."

Referencing the 22nd Amendment, which limits US presidents to two terms, Hostin noted that while she isn't sure if Trump's ambitions for a third term could come to fruition, she wouldn’t be surprised if he tried.

Ana Navarro then weighed in, saying, "No matter how insane, stupid, hare-brained, and lawless I think something he says might be. I've learned the lesson of taking him seriously."

She went on to emphasize Trump's role as a "distraction in chief," saying, "He does want to keep talking about Signalgate, which is the real threat to national security."

Alyssa Farah Griffin added, "He's got this way of dangling things like this out there like catnip so certain corners of the media bite on it."

The former White House aide pointed out that Trump's comment about a third term conveniently coincides with the looming tariffs set to take effect in 48 hours, which will likely cost everyone a lot of money.

Goldberg wrapped up the conversation by reminding viewers of their own power, urging, "Do not wait for the politicians to get themselves together. It is up to us. Get out and vote. You don't like what's happening? Then stop what's happening. Stop it. Get out there and stop it. You're not helpless."
