WASHINGTON, DC: Following the release on Friday, December 12, of a trove of photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, the images revealed the late financier’s links to some of the world’s most powerful figures, including President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump shrugged off the new release, saying that “everyone knew this man,” while responding to a reporter’s question.
Donald Trump downplays new Epstein photos
“There were new Epstein photos released today showing you, and also Bill Clinton, and Steve Bannon. What was your reaction to those new photos released?” a reporter asked Trump.
To which he replied, “Well, I haven’t seen them, but everybody knew this man; he was all over Palm Beach. He has photos with everybody. There are hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him. So that's no big deal, I know nothing about it.”
Bizarre new Epstein photos
Among the most notable bizarre items in the newly released photographs is a photo of a bowl filled with novelty condoms featuring a caricature of Trump’s face.
A sign on the bowl reads "Trump condom $4.50," and the wrappers bear the text, "I’m HUUUUGE!"
Another image depicts President Trump standing with six women wearing leis, though the committee redacted the women's faces.
The collection also includes a photograph of Bannon taking a picture with Epstein in a mirror.
Former President Clinton appears in a photo alongside Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and another couple.
Tech billionaire Bill Gates is shown in a picture with the former Prince Andrew. Other high-profile figures, including former Harvard president Larry Summers and lawyer Alan Dershowitz, also appear in the set.
Democrats demand answers after Epstein photo release
Representative Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, used the release to demand further transparency from the Department of Justice.
"It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," Garcia said in a statement.
"These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world. We will not rest until the American people get the truth."
Lawyers for the Epstein estate noted that the production included documents where they were "unable to confirm whether they were taken at a property owned, rented, operated, or used by Epstein."
