Claim: Whoopi Goldberg's mansion burned down in LA wildfires

A website called Esspots.com published an article claiming that Whoopi Goldberg's California mansion had burned down in one of the fires in Los Angeles.

The article read, "The recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area have caused widespread devastation, claiming the lives of at least 10 people and destroying thousands of homes and businesses. Among the properties affected by the massive blazes is the home of actress and television host Whoopi Goldberg, which was completely burnt down in the flames."

It continued, "The wildfire, which tore through various upscale neighborhoods, has resulted in millions of dollars in damage, leaving countless residents displaced and heartbroken."

Moreover, several Facebook pages, including The Patriots Network, Space X Fanclub, and The Patriots Lovers, shared different variations of pictures showing a burning house with a sign in front of it that had text stating that Goldberg's home had been damaged in the fires.

False: Article claiming Whoopi Goldberg's mansion burned down is a satire

The claims made in the Esspots.com article are completely false as the article is tagged as a satire. A note at the bottom of the article reads, "This is SATIRE, It's Not TRUE", according to Snopes.

Similarly, a biography of the article's author states that he writes "satirical pieces".

Moreover, there is no evidence that Goldberg's home was damaged in the wildfires and no credible news outlets reported anything that would back the claim.
