Fans gush over Trump's granddaughter Carolina as WH shares behind-the-scenes footage from Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump made a high-octane return to the Daytona International Speedway, attending the 2025 Daytona 500 alongside his granddaughter, Carolina Dorothy Trump.
The visit marked his third time at the legendary NASCAR track and his second in five years. But what stole the spotlight wasn’t just the engines revving—it was a 17-second clip shared by the official White House social media account that had everyone talking.

The White House’s 'behind the scenes' look
In a rare move, the White House posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring Trump and his 5-year-old granddaughter inside The Beast, the presidential state car.
In the clip—originally taken from Eric Trump’s TikTok—Trump is seen waving to roaring NASCAR fans while Carolina, sitting beside him, adorably mimics his gesture.

The video, set to the 'Days of Thunder' theme, was captioned: "BEHIND THE SCENES with President Trump and Carolina in The Beast at #DAYTONA500."
Carolina Dorothy Trump, born in August 2019, is the daughter of Eric Trump and Lara Trump.
Eric, Trump’s second son from his marriage to the late Ivana Trump, shares two children with Lara—their firstborn, Eric 'Luke' Trump, arrived in 2017.
This wasn’t Donald Trump’s first lap around the Daytona track.
He previously attended the 2020 Daytona 500, where he served as the Grand Marshal, giving the iconic command: “Gentlemen, start your engines!”

But his history with the speedway stretches back even further.
In 2001, he visited the track in the aftermath of Dale Earnhardt’s tragic crash, a moment that remains one of the most somber in NASCAR history.
Donald Trump praises NASCAR drivers and America’s 'spirit'
While at the race, Donald Trump sat down for a brief interview with Fox Sports’ Jamie Little.
He took the opportunity to commend the bravery of NASCAR drivers, saying, "I'll talk to them, and I say they have a lot of courage doing this. It's, I see it, and I've been here, and they have a lot of guts, as they would say."
When asked why he made his return to NASCAR’s biggest event, Trump tied his visit to what he sees as a resurgence of national pride, "Well, I think it's fantastic. It's great for the country.

"Our country is doing well again, and we have spirit all over the world. There's spirit again. We brought it back, and it's been less than four weeks, so you'll see what we do in a little period of time. It's going to only get better, but this is very exciting."
During his nearly two-hour stay at the speedway, Trump met with racing officials, drivers, and veterans of the sport.
