'Your time is up!': Internet slams Joe Biden for intending to cap prescription drug costs at $2K for all
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his intention of capping prescription drug costs for all Americans to $2,000 a year on Saturday, March 30.
Affordable healthcare is arguably the foremost issue in the incumbent's reelection campaign for 2024. His administration has opened up on the subject regularly and attacked their political opponent Donald Trump and the Republican Party for being against it.
Imagine a world where women could be charged more for preventive services like mammograms.

Where cancer patients are cut off from insurance halfway through chemo because they’d reached what they call “their limit.”
That's the future Republicans in Congress want to write.
Biden, who has long stated that healthcare is a right and not a privilege, already managed to lower costs for seniors by capping the price of insulin at $35, providing free vaccines, and capping out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs at $2,000 starting in 2025.
President Joe Biden's Inflation Reduction Act
From the official X account of POTUS, President Biden shared a poster that read, "President Biden wants to cap prescription drug costs at $2,000 a year for everyone."
In the tweet, he wrote, "Starting next year, my Inflation Reduction Act will cap total prescription drug costs for seniors on Medicare at $2,000 a year – even for expensive cancer drugs that can cost $10,000, $12,000, $15,000 a year."
"Now, I want to cap that cost for every American," added the incumbent.

Internet slams President Joe Biden
Netizens did not take President Joe Biden's announcement in stride and told him that his "time is up".
A social media user asked, "So you want to take more tax payer dollars and give them to pharmaceutical companies? Or require every healthcare plan to lower max out of pockets, which will drive monthly premiums even higher?"

"Remember when Trump lowered the cost of insulin, and you immediately undid that? Then, when you had no choice but to re-implement that policy, you finely did, and then took credit for it? You probably don't remember, but we do," wrote one individual.

"Because it's not like this is just a Band-Aid solution that doesn't address the root problem of pharmaceutical companies charging exorbitant prices for life-saving drugs. No, let's just pretend like a $2,000 cap is going to magically solve all our healthcare problems," noted another.
"And let's not forget the irony of a politician promising to help seniors while simultaneously doing nothing to address the systemic issues that make healthcare unaffordable for millions of Americans. Because that's definitely the best way to win over voters, right?" they further asked.
