Jack Sock recalls celebrity-filled wedding and unforgettable performances
When asked about attending what the reporter called "the wedding of the century," Sock admitted he would "rather err on the safe side" when discussing the event but said it was "an unbelievable experience." He described the celebration as having everything from "comedic relief" to "obviously tears for a lot of people," adding that there were "great times" and "good energy."
The former tennis player shared that he has known Kelce "for a long time now," explaining that the two connected through Kansas City, "golfed together a lot" and "became good friends over the years." He also revealed that it was his "first time seeing or being near Taylor," adding that he met her "at the end when we said bye."
Reflecting on the evening, Sock said there was "a lot of people watching" and "amazing singing performances by different people," adding, "Herself included, which was really fun to see."
Asked whether there was a particular moment that stood out, Sock said, "I think that was just the general [feeling] for hours. You look, that was the kind of general feel." He pointed to the cocktail hour, where guests were "kind of shoulder-to-shoulder with everybody," recalling seeing Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron and Brad Pitt.
"You're standing like right here... I was like, all right. Yeah... It was just a crazy, crazy experience," he shared. When asked if he became best friends with anyone, Sock replied, "I definitely stayed on the outskirts. I would say kind of just stayed in our lane. Hung out, people watched, which was fun."
The Olympic gold medalist added that they "called it early" and were "gone probably hours before a lot of people." Summing up the wedding, Sock said, "The best... just an experience. It wasn't like... it was unbelievable in so many ways. It was different, I feel like, than I was expecting maybe in some ways. Overall, it was just a crazy experience."
Eric Stonestreet, Jason Kelce and Pat McAfee also share wedding memories
Following the wedding, details of which were kept under strict lock and key for months, some of the estimated 1,000 celebrities and other guests in attendance have shared glimpses of what took place inside Madison Square Garden.
Eric Stonestreet wrote on Instagram, "I guess I can say now. We were at a wedding in New York City last night. Two truly special people found each other and what a joy to be able to celebrate them. And also, [my wife] Lindsay is so hot."
Speaking further about the event, Stonestreet said, "It was awesome. I mean, I think you've read everything that there is to be said about it. ... I think my favorite moment was just that they created a place that they could have the normalcy that they deserve."
He further added, "And it just happened to be at Madison Square Garden with security making sure everybody was safe and good and they could just have a night for themselves."
Travis' brother, Jason Kelce, reportedly speaking to representatives at the American Century Championship golf tournament, called it "a special event for our entire family."
"My daughters [who were flower girls] are incredible. They're beautiful, they're incredible personalities. And Travis and Taylor love them. So, very happy we were able to be a part of it. And more importantly, very happy for those two. It was an amazing day," he added.
Pat McAfee also reflected on the celebration during his ESPN show, calling it "the most spectacular evening I've ever been a part of."
"The football world coming together with Hollywood and Nashville ... It was the greatest night of all time. My wife and I had a blast. They absolutely showcased that they are in love, it was very obvious ... That wedding was a perfect night," the sports analyst futher shared.
