WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump was in stand-up mode aboard Air Force One on his way back to Washington.

The president cracked a golf-related zinger aimed straight at his predecessor, Joe Biden, and flexing the length of his “drive” while at it.

Flying back from a five-day swing through Scotland, where he opened a brand-new course at his luxury Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie, Trump was peppered with questions aboard Air Force One. One of them touched on whether he was using his presidency to plug his golf empire.

“I haven’t heard that. No. I haven’t heard that," Trump responded. "Did you get to see my drive in the first hole?” he asked the press. “Pretty long. Pretty long. That’s no Joe Biden, let me tell you,” he quipped with his signature smirk.

Trump hailed for his humor on social media

Trump’s comments had his supporters on social media rolling on the floor.

"Alpha Chad as President will NEVER get old," one posted on X. "He is one of if not the funniest presidents we’ve ever had. I also voted for this," another gushed.

"It’s wonderful to see our true leader chuck it up with everyone. Biden could never do this," someone else wrote.

"That’s our POTUS, very successful, determined and hard working, glad to see him return to WH! Thank you Sir for MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" a comment read.

"One of the most ridiculous lies Biden ever told was when he said he could beat President Trump in golf… Biden couldn’t even walk down a sidewalk at the WH without the Easter Bunny giving him directions," another offered.

Trump-Biden debate that went off the green

During the 2024 presidential debate, things got a little heated between Trump and Biden when it came to their respective golf skills. “I got my handicap, which when I was vice president, down to a six," the latter claimed.

Trump was not buying it for a second. “That's the biggest lie that he's a six handicap of all,” he said. “I've seen your swing. I know your swing.”

Biden then backpedaled a bit. “I was an eight handicap. Yeah. Eight," he said, apparently correcting himself.

Trump ended the exchange saying, “Let’s not act like children.”

New Scottish golf course a Trump family affair

Trump’s latest golf flex came on the heels of his trip to Scotland. The president spent five days holding high level meetings with European leaders and promoting his family’s golf empire, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new course at Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie, near Aberdeen.

“A tremendously successful place,” Trump predicted during a speech that was live-streamed on the White House YouTube channel. After snipping the ceremonial ribbon, he told the crowd he’d squeeze in a quick round. “I’ll play a quick 18 before I head back to Washington," he said.

The new course is a family affair. His son Eric Trump was deeply involved in developing the property, and Trump described the whole thing as a “labor of love.”

Trump also gave a shoutout to his mother and his roots in the Isle of Lewis. “We love Scotland here. My mother was born here, and she loved it," he said, adding that she used to visit “religiously once a year” during the summers.

But the new course wasn’t the only stop. Trump also visited Trump Turnberry, his 2014 acquisition that he once hailed as “perhaps the greatest golf course anywhere in the world.”
