ROME, GEORGIA: During a campaign rally on Saturday, March 9, former President Donald Trump praised Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) for interrupting President Joe Biden during his State of the Union speech over Laken Riley, the Georgia college student suspected to have been murdered by a Venezuelan migrant in February.

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman invited Riley's parents and friends to the "Get Out The Vote Rally," which took place in Rome, just two hours away from Athens, where Riley was killed.

Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan national who entered the country illegally in 2022, is the prime suspect in Riley's death, according to the authorities.

As per The Hill, Trump took advantage of the occasion to attack President Biden on immigration while applauding Rep Greene for her "courage" in speaking up during the SOTU speech on Thursday.

At the gathering, the former POTUS addressed Rep Greene, saying, "And Marjorie, I have to say, you were very brave and tried to bring up a point. Very brave, takes courage. It’s not easy to do, stand up and do that."

During his SOTU speech, President Biden mentioned the bipartisan bill on border security that was apparently blocked partly due to Trump's opposition when Rep Greene, a vocal supporter of the ex-POTUS, interjected by shouting out "Laken Riley."

The 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief then took a moment to concede to the disruption caused by the MAGA-aligned congresswoman, pulled out a pin with Riley's name on it, and expressed his condolences to her parents, mentioning that he knows what it's like to lose a child.

However, he mistakenly referred to the deceased college student as "Lincoln Riley," which Trump later scrutinized during his Saturday campaign rally.

President Biden asserted she was an "innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal" and then posed how many people are killed "by legal."

Thereafter, the POTUS apologized for referring to Ibarra as an "illegal" during an MSNBC interview on Saturday, saying that he should have rather used the term "undocumented."

Trump chastised President Biden for it, saying he had "no remorse" about problems at the border.

"He was an illegal immigrant. He was an illegal alien. He was an illegal migrant, and he shouldn’t have been in our country, and he never would have been under the Trump policy," said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee during his Saturday rally.

Trump maintained, "Laken Riley would be alive today if Joe Biden did not willfully and maliciously eviscerate the borders of the United States, set loose thousands and thousands of dangerous criminals into our country."

Both President Biden and former President Trump held rallies in Georgia on Saturday, coinciding with their expected rematch in the 2024 presidential election.

In the wake of Riley's death, Trump and several GOP members have pointed to the Biden administration's handling of the border as the primary reason for this tragic occurrence.

Internet divided as Donald Trump gives plaudits to Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene for interrupting President Joe Biden's SOTU speech

One remarked, "One classless act commends another," and another said, "He thrives in chaos."

"She made Biden say her name even if he said it wrong," opined a person.

Someone else noted, "While Former President Donald Trump may be commending Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for interrupting President Biden's speech regarding Laken Riley I Condemn her actions as disgraceful. MTG should have showed some respect and decency during the speech."

A supporter asserted, "We ALL thank @RepMTG for holding Old Yeller accountable."
