WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's campaign released their latest abortion ad following former President Donald Trump's announcement leaving abortion legislation to states without endorsing a nationwide ban, NBC News reported.

The 60-second ad released hours after the GOP presumptive nominee's video message on the issue featured a Texas woman from Austin, Amanda Zurawski, discussing the miscarriage of her fetus.

The ad blamed Trump for risking Zurawski's life as she almost died from the miscarriage due to strict restrictions on abortion in Texas. She has sued the state over the abortion ban.

What does Biden campaign's abortion ad say?

The video shows Zurawski and her husband, Josh, showing the things they bought for their unborn baby, which were kept in a Willow box.

"At 18 weeks, Amanda's water broke," the ad said. "She had a miscarriage."

As the couple went through an emotional lane describing the loss of their baby, the screen read, "Because Donald Trump killed Roe v Wade, Amanda was denied standard medical care to prevent infection, an abortion."

As per the ad, Zurawski was compelled to return home by doctors, causing her to end up in intensive care with sepsis three days later.

"She almost died twice. The infection caused so much damage Amanda may never get pregnant again," the ad said.

It concludes with the statement, "Donald Trump did this," while Zurawski cries in the background and her husband comforts her.

The US Supreme Court revoked Roe v Wade in 2022, leaving abortion legislation to states. Trump has often boasted about overturning the decades-old ruling, which stemmed from appointing judges during his office term that shifted the SCOTUS to a conservative majority.

The abortion ad, part of a $30 million ad campaign, will air on stations like ESPN, Comedy Central, FX, and TNT and during prime time shows including 'Saturday Night Live,' 'The Voice,' 'American Idol,' 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Abbott Elementary'.

Former President Donald Trump listens as his attorney Todd Blanche speaks during a press conference at 40 Wall Street after a pre-trial hearing on March 25, 2024 in New York City. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Abortion has taken a central stage in the 2024 presidential campaign, with Democrats hoping the Republicans' strict stance on the issue would help them win against Trump, similar to how it helped Democrats' victory in the 2022 midterm elections.

Internet slams Biden campaign ad

Disagreeing with Biden campaign's ad blaming Trump for the Texas woman's miscarriage, social media users slammed it, suggesting the couple lost the baby due to poor medical care.

One user wrote, "Most abortions have nothing to do with medical issues stop lying."

While another asked, "Why politicize a woman losing her baby? This clearly was not an unwanted pregnancy."

"I wasn’t aware Donald Trump was one of the nine Supreme Court Justices which voted on the decision to return the abortion decision to the states so the people can control their fate and not your commie regime," a third user remarked.

A fourth response read, "This couple clearly wanted to have a baby. They did NOT want to have an abortion. Additionally, medical intervention in this case is not an abortion. This couple received poor medical care; they were not denied access to abortion. Shame on you for trying to gaslight about their painful & tragic loss."

"No Joe, Democrats Did this! Democrats could have codified Roe v Wade when they had full control! What did they do? Not a damn thing! SCOTUS made the right decision giving States the power to decide!" someone else opined.

A user argued, "Sounds like an Obamacare problem to me. Denied her medication for an infection? Why? This video is dumb like this Administration," and another remark read, "That wasn’t Trump’s fault. That was medical malpractice."

"Trump didn't even TRY to pass legislation that would stop that lady from getting an abortion, and the overturn of Roe v Wade didn't ban abortion anywhere. If you have to lie this much to convince someone to vote for you I have to conclude there's no legitimate reason to do so," another one wrote.
