LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sunny Hostin, co-host of 'The View,' made fun of the presumption that there are Black Republicans. This comes as Byron Donalds, R-Fla, recently made remarks that Black families voted more conservatively and "together" during the Jim Crow era, which the co-hosts were debating.

The Florida Republican was speaking to a group of Black conservatives when he made the comments, which Hostin then seized upon to suggest that these voters are legendary beings, Fox News reports.

What did Sunny Hostin say during the show?

"These Black men that he was speaking with, I’d love to see them," Hostin said, adding "It would be like looking at unicorns." Following a series of criticisms from her daytime talk show co-hosts, Joy Behar questioned Hostin about whether she thought the congressman was pointing out the issues out of "stupidity, or is it something else?"

"I thought it was interesting that the framing was a room of Black Republicans," Hostin said. She held her hands up to her eyes and jokingly scanned the audience, adding, "Where are they? Where are they? Because if you look at the stats, 77% – 81%, I’m sorry, of Black men are part of the Democratic Party."

"Black voters consistently align with the Democratic Party," Hostin continued, adding "Over 95% of [Black] women are part of the Democratic Party."

"If you’re pandering yourself and your community and your history to a man like Donald Trump, who is a disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached, convicted felon — we get to say now — is even more despicable in this country," Hostin said on Friday, June 7.

Former President Donald Trump has made notable gains

Recent polling indicates that former President Trump has made significant progress, despite the fact that the majority of Black voters are registered Democrats. According to surveys conducted in recent weeks, Trump's support among Black voters has doubled from 10% since the time of the 2020 election.

What did CNN data guru Harry Enten say?

Harry Enten, the CNN data guru, predicted that would be "deadly" for President Biden's attempt to win reelection and assist Trump in winning the presidency.

"My goodness gracious," he said as he reacted to the polling average, which showed Trump's support among Black voters more than doubled to 22% compared to 2020. Biden, meanwhile, saw a 12% drop, though he still holds a 47-point lead. If this continued into November, Trump could win a larger share of Black voters than any Republican candidate since 1960, Enten said.

"This would be by far the best performance for a Republican candidate among Black voters in a generation, two generations, probably since 1960 and Richard Nixon against John F Kennedy … This could be a truly historic margin," he said, adding "It’s quite a troubling sign for the Biden campaign."

However, there's a stark difference when factoring age. The polling average CNN cited showed 82% of Black voters 50 and older, but that dropped to 62% for voters under 50. Trump has support from 25% of Black voters from 18 to 49 — three times more than older voters.

"This is historic. This is what a lot of folks have been talking about, that Joe Biden has a specific problem among younger Black voters, and that is exactly what showing up right here," Enten said, adding "It‘s these younger Black voters who very much are turning on him and being much more supportive of Donald Trump than they were four years ago."

Internet lambasts Sunny Hostin following her presumptive remarks

Netizens mocked Sunny Hostin following her recent comments on 'The View' show. One user tweeted, "That’s funny coming from a show of Heifers." Another penned, "Every black American I know is a republican!!!" 'People still watch this show?" asked one user.

"She will be calling Alyssa an “Oreo” by August," mocked one while another chimed in, "These people are out of touch with reality, no wonder the Democrats gonna lose hard." "That says more about Hostin than Republicans," echoed one user.
