WASHINGTON, DC: In a recent interview, President Joe Biden addressed the issue of fake news and misinformation, which has become a recurring stumbling block for his reelection campaign to contend with during this election cycle.

The 81-year-old incumbent, who received favorable treatment from the media during his 2020 presidential campaign while former President Donald Trump was heavily criticized and legitimate stories such as the one about Hunter Biden's laptop were disregarded, has now started to criticize the press as more questions surface about his 2024 campaign.

As questions surrounding his reelection bid mount, President Biden's stance on the press has changed drastically.

Prior to his Covid diagnosis, during a radio interview with Univision, President Biden was asked whether he felt betrayed by the departure of notable supporters like George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Ashley Judd, and Democratic Rep Adam Schiff, according to the New York Post.

The focus of the Democrat statesman’s response shifted away from his Hollywood associates and the California lawmaker to express his dissatisfaction with the press.

What did President Joe Biden say about the current state of the American press?

“And I found some relief in you saying you’re not a political reporter,” President Biden remarked to the host, before bashing the media.

“Think about this. There’s a lot of really good reporters out there, but they have no limit. It’s very difficult, the ability to step up, and let me put it, there are no editors anymore. You don’t have an editor so you can’t say that it’s not true. They don’t say that anymore,” the Commander-in-Chief claimed.

Before resuming his criticism of the political press, he spoke about artificial intelligence and how it may be used to generate fake advertisements.

“So we have to figure out how, not to control the media, the media should be uncontrolled, be able to do what it wants. But there’s — we’ve got to figure out a way how we can say this is true. This is basically true. And so that’s what we’re about in this election and trying to expose some of the outrageous things that have been said,” Biden asserted.

The president is nearing the end of his fifty-year-long political career, and his acrimonious behavior toward the press has become a familiar strategy.

“Why don’t you guys ever talk about the 18, the 28 lies he told? Where — where are you on this? Why doesn’t the press ever talk about that? Twenty-eight times, it’s confirmed, he lied in that debate. . . . Seriously, you won’t answer the question, but why doesn’t the press talk about all the lies he told?” Biden berated NBC's Lester Holt for doing yet another inquest on his dreadful debate outing against Donald Trump.

Last week in Detroit, President Biden tried imitating his predecessor during a campaign rally by attempting to sway the selected crowd against journalists who were there to report on his speech.

“They’ve been hammering me because I sometimes confuse names,” Biden said.

“I say, ‘That’s Charlie,’ instead of ‘Bill,'” Biden explained, once again claiming that former President Donald Trump, the candidate who has faced the most scrutiny in American history, has “gotten a free pass.”
