Melania and Ivanka Trump not among keynote speakers at RNC convention, Internet says 'doesn't make sense'
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Melania Trump, the former first lady, will not be featured as one of the headliners or keynote speakers at the Republican National Convention for former President Donald Trump, set to start on Monday, July 15, in Milwaukee, according to DailyMail.
Ivanka Trump, who served as the White House senior advisor during her father’s term as POTUS from 2017 to 2021, transitioned to a lower public profile after moving to Florida with her husband Jared Kushner, who is also not included in the list of headliners.
On Saturday, July 13, the list of speakers was announced, which includes former First Son Donald Trump Jr, a vocal advocate for his father since he left the White House, and his brother Eric Trump.
Lara Trump, Eric's wife, who is now an RNC co-chair in a clear indication of Trump's complete control of the party, will also speak at the upcoming event, as will Don Jr's fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Who are other Donald Trump family members expected to attend the RNC convention?
Barron Trump, who received rapturous applause at a recent Trump rally for taking on a more visible public role, was seated alongside his father in a golf cart while he criticized President Joe Biden. However, his name is not included in the list of convention speakers.
According to the outlet, Melania is expected to attend the convention with her husband, but it remains unclear if she will have a formal speaking role like she did in 2016 and 2020. Additionally, it is uncertain what role Barron will take on as he prepares for college.
Ivanka is anticipated to make a personal appearance on Thursday, July 18.
The convention has also revealed a lineup of “entertainers, celebrities, and industry leaders” who will address the audience.
Speakers include Peter Navarro, Trump's former economic advisor who is set to be released from prison on Monday after serving a four-month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena.
Pro-Trump loyalists from the House, such as Reps Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ronny Jackson, and Anna Paulina Luna are scheduled to make appearances at the GOP convention.
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who was once considered a potential Republican presidential candidate, will also be speaking, as will Trump’s attorney Alina Habba, who stood by the former president during his New York hush money trial that resulted in his felony conviction on 34 counts.
Multiple US senators, including vice-presidential contenders JD Vance and Marco Rubio, will speak, along with former Sen Ted Cruz, who was famously booed during his 2016 convention speech when he suggested that people vote their conscience and refused to endorse Donald Trump.
Rep Byron Donalds, another MAGA-aligned congressman from the Sunshine State is also on the list.
Lee Greenwood, known for his song 'God Bless the USA' which is often played at Trump rallies, is on the list.
Despite many former top Trump White House officials distancing themselves from him following the events of January 6, 2021, the convention's lineup features former cabinet members Linda McMahon and Mike Pompeo.
