PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Republican strategist Scott Jennings has advised former president Donald Trump to exercise caution after seemingly aligning with Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The independent presidential candidate has garnered attention for his controversial views, particularly regarding vaccines and various conspiracy theories.

Scott Jennings raises concerns over RFK Jr's deranged views

Scott Jennings suggested that while RFK Jr's endorsement might attract some voters, it could also come with negative repercussions for Donald Trump.

During an interview with CNN, Jennings was asked if Kennedy Jr's support could potentially backfire on Trump due to the environmental lawyer's controversial stances.

“There could be some cost on the other side of the algebra,” Jennings acknowledged, noting Kennedy Jr's transition from a liberal to a conservative conspiracy theorist.

“I’m old enough to remember when RFK was a liberal, you know, conspiracy theorist. Now he’s more of a conservative conspiracy theorist, but the through line is, he’s a conspiracy theorist, and a lot of people think he’s kind of a looney tune,” Jennings remarked.

“I would just caution the former president to be a little careful here. Don’t make any promises, you can’t get out of because this guy, over the course of his career, has been a, you know, a little bit, so just careful," Mediate reported.

RFK Jr suspended campaign, endorsed Donald Trump after poll decline

RFK Jr initially launched his presidential campaign as a Democrat but shifted to run as an independent in October.

Facing declining poll numbers, Kennedy Jr announced the suspension of his campaign on Friday, August 23, and backed Trump.

“I was surprised to discover that we are aligned on many key issues,” Kennedy Jr said during an address.

Trump, at an event in Nevada, expressed gratitude for Kennedy Jr's endorsement, calling it “good news” in a statement from his campaign.

The Harris campaign responded with a statement seemingly directed at Kennedy supporters.

“For any American out there who is tired of Donald Trump and looking for a new way forward, ours is a campaign for you.”

Kennedy Jr's efforts to meet with the Harris campaign to discuss a possible endorsement in exchange for a cabinet secretary position were reportedly rebuffed.

Rober F Kennedy Jr's endorsement was criticized by his siblings as a betrayal

Following his endorsement of Donald Trump, Robert F Kennedy Jr joined the former president at a campaign rally outside Phoenix where Trump stated that Kennedy would have a “huge influence on this campaign.”

However, the endorsement sparked a strong reaction from Kennedy Jr's siblings, who issued a joint statement denouncing his decision.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Courtney Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, and Rory Kennedy expressed their disappointment in a joint statement.

“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise, and national pride," they said in a statement.

"We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story," their statement added.
