Donald and Eric Trump on Elon Musk’s Influence

Eric Trump has also previously expressed strong support for Musk. During an interview with Piers Morgan on October 9, he highlighted Musk’s entrepreneurial achievements at SpaceX, specifically the company’s rocket-catching technology using mechanical arms.

He remarked, “We need 200 Elon Musks,” emphasizing Musk’s exceptional contributions to American entrepreneurialism.

Eric added, “Elon represents the best of what we do as Americans, better than anybody in the world, which is entrepreneurialism. And the fact that he's catching these rockets using these chopsticks, he’s incredible at everything he does. We need 200 Elon…”

He described himself as a “strong supporter of him and everything that he stands for,” extending the praise to Musk’s role beyond business.

He also noted the mutual respect between Musk and President Trump, calling them a “formidable team” with “massive admiration and respect for one another.”

Trump and Musk had a public fallout following disagreements over the Oval Office’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Musk argued undermined the cost-cutting efforts of DOGE. Despite this, President Trump later took a conciliatory tone during a Cabinet meeting on December 2.

When asked if Musk was “back in his circle of friends,” Trump replied, “Well, I really don't know. I mean, I like Elon a lot.” He also praised Musk’s endorsement during the 2024 campaign, acknowledging their differing views on electric-vehicle policy had played a role in their dispute.
