WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's reelection campaign is cashing in money after Robert De Niro's endorsement. The star signed a fundraising letter for the president, according to The Hill.

This came just a day after the 'Killers of the Flower Moon' actor made a surprise appearance outside the Manhattan courthouse where closing arguments were being delivered in former President Donald Trump’s hush money criminal case.

What did Robert De Niro say in his message to Biden supporters?

On May 29, De Niro said in his message to Biden supporters, “I still can’t believe Donald Trump got elected president. Thank God Joe Biden defeated him and restored decency, compassion, and honest, intelligent leadership to the presidency,” the 80-year-old Hollywood actor remarked.

“Now Trump is trying to claw his way back. Frankly, it scares the hell out of me,” he added. De Niro advised supporters of President Biden to "just imagine how dangerous it will be if [Trump] becomes President again," reiterating his disparaging description of the 45th POTUS as a "monster."

De Niro called on supporters to contribute at least $25 to President Biden's reelection campaign, saying, "It’s going to take all of us to make sure Donald Trump never returns to the White House."

The fundraising plea came a day after De Niro made waves with a surprise visit on behalf of the Biden campaign outside the Manhattan courthouse where Trump's criminal trial was being held. One of Hollywood's most vocal opponents of Trump, Robert De Niro, claimed in a news conference that the former commander-in-chief intended to "sow total chaos."

“I don’t mean to scare you. No no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you. If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss away these freedoms that we take for granted, and elections, forget about it. … He will never leave,” he alleged.

In the fundraising email, De Niro, who filmed a campaign ad for President Biden last week, said, "Over the years, I've played my share of vicious, low-life characters." Trump is "a wannabe tough guy with no morals or ethics who will do whatever he can to obtain power," De Niro declared, adding. “As an actor, I could never play him. There’s not a shred of humanity to hang on to.”
