CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: On Wednesday, July 24, former president Donald Trump discussed various key policy issues at a campaign rally, shifting his attention from criticizing President Joe Biden to targeting Vice President Kamala Harris.

During his rally in North Carolina, the former president made controversial remarks, suggesting that the Vice President supports “executing” babies, aiming to send a shockwave among conservative voters in the South while attacking the Democrats' 2024 agenda, the DailyMail reported.

The 78-year-old MAGA figurehead also addressed topics such as the border crisis and the US' relationship with Israel at this event, which was his first since Kamala Harris became his presumed Democratic presidential opponent in the upcoming November general election.

Trump notably focused on Harris' stance on abortion despite the potential impact this issue might have on his support among women voters in swing states.

Donald Trump referred to Kamala Harris as a "lunatic" in front of 10,000 people gathered at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, saying, "She wants abortions in the eighth and ninth month of pregnancy—that's fine with her."

“Right up until birth and even after birth the execution of a baby. Because that's not abortion that's the execution of a baby,” he remarked.

The six conservative justices on the United States Supreme Court, three of whom were appointed by the former POTUS, made a ruling in June 2022 to overturn Roe v Wade, giving states the authority to make decisions about abortion laws.

On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden announced through a brief statement on social media that he would no longer seek reelection after facing intense pressure following a dismal debate outing against Trump.

Subsequently, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place as the 2024 Democratic nominee in November.

Earlier this week, VP Harris secured enough delegates to win the Democratic Party's nomination at the Convention in Chicago next month.

In the 2024 election campaign, Democrats are focusing heavily on the abortion issue, aiming to win the support of women in key battleground states like North Carolina and Pennsylvania who prioritize women's healthcare when voting.

During his Wednesday speech, Trump targeted “lyin’ Kamala Harris” on various issues, criticizing her for not addressing the increase in border crossings after President Biden tasked her with managing the migration crisis on the southern border of the United States.

The 2024 Republican presidential candidate claimed, “If 'border czar' Harris gets in charge, every week will bring a never-ending stream of illegal alien rapists, bloodthirsty killers, and child predators to go after our sons and our daughters – that's what's going to happen. Everyone knows that.”

He also pledged to reverse all of Biden's border policies on the first day of a potential second term, similar to the actions the Democrat statesman took in 2021 when he overturned all of Trump's immigration policies that had controlled border crossings.

“Joe Biden made [Harris] the border czar and that's when it really got bad,” Trump added. “She launched a colossal illegal alien invasion of our country. She said, 'Come on in.' Remember?”

“On my very first day back in the White House I will terminate every single open border policy of the Biden-Harris administration,” the ex-Commander-in-Chief asserted. “And we will seal the border and we will stop Kamala Harris invasion without delay. It will happen immediately.”

The ex-president also offered a potential solution for rectifying national defense shortcomings -- terminating US Generals and appointing NASCAR drivers and football coaches to lead the Military.

“I've always said, get these guys, I have a lot of friends in this word [NASCAR],” Trump said.

“I said let me use these guys to guide our military a little bit,” he remarked.

“When you can win so many races, that's OK. You guide,” he continued. “Same thing with coaches, you take some of the greatest football coaches, you put them at a table. 'What do you like coach?' Because in its own ways it's not so much really different.”

He called out NASCAR icons Roger Penske and Richard Childress, both of whom were present in the audience.

Childress was invited on stage to introduce former president Trump at the Charlotte rally on Wednesday.

He became emotional while discussing Trump's tribute and meeting with the 13 gold star families who lost loved ones in the Afghanistan withdrawal under the Biden administration.

Donald Trump shredded for claiming Kamala Harris wants to 'execute' babies after birth

People online lambasted Donald Trump after he sought to shock southern conservatives during his North Carolina campaign rally by claiming Vice President Kamala Harris is in favor of "executing" newborn babies.

One person argued, "Hold up, let’s get back to the logical basics here. The definition of an abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. There literally no such thing as an abortion AFTER birth."

Another said, "So sad that people actually believe Trump when he says things like this. At what point do these people wake up and realize they’re being lied to? Or do they realize Trump is lying to them and they just think it’s part of Trump’s act?"

One individual wrote, "Trump is bricking it now that he is up against Harris. The more extreme and personal his attacks become the more deranged he will become. Harris should concentrate on policies and to resist attacking Trump personally. Trump himself is already do a good job of destroying his and the Republican Party chances."

Another remarked, "Wow, if that's the best Trump got to attack Kamala, then it's game over for him. Sounds like Scott Jennings is advising him."

One individual wrote, "Trump wants to replace military leadership with people that will be loyal to him over the constitution."

Another asserted, "There is not a single bone of honesty and integrity in Trump’s body, not one ounce of compassion . This man can only destroy whatever good there is if it doesn’t suit his personal ambitions. He presents a very negative and bleak vision of the future. He is really not fit to be leader of this country."

One person added, "Trump has his insults but not much else to campaign on. It's not 2016 and he's a burnt card several times over."
