NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley criticized former President Donald Trump's "temper tantrums" and "revenge talks," stating the voters do not want "chaos anymore."

The former South Carolina Governor made the remarks in an exclusive interview on CNBC's 'Squawk Box' on Monday, January 29.

The interview ahead of the February 24 primary at her home state, South Carolina, mainly discussed her determination to continue in the race after her 11-point defeat against Trump in the New Hampshire primary.

With less than a month left for the primary in her home state, Nikki Haley positively remarked upon her voter support in the state, adding her recent campaign rally had 1,500 people in the upstate of South Carolina.

"We had a thousand people in Charleston. Last night we had several hundred in the PD. People are out there excited," she continued.

Apart from the claims of rising voter momentum, Haley explained how Trump's temper tantrums would help her to win.

"They [voters] know what my record is. But, more than that, they don't want the chaos anymore. They see how President Trump acted, just think in the last 48 hours what he did. He has a temper tantrum and talks about revenge," she told the anchors Becky Quick and Andrew Ross Sorkin.

To substantiate her opinion, Haley first drew attention to the recent warning of the former President threatening to "permanently" ban her donors from the MAGA camp.

Secondly, she pointed out the Republican National Committee's move to declare Trump as the presumptive nominee in the 2024 presidential election while Haley was still in the race and 48 states remained to vote. The White House hopeful claimed that the former President was behind the decision. However, Trump rejected the draft resolution, expressing his desire to complete the electoral process in the traditional way.

"You can't win a presidency like that," Haley declared.

After winning the New Hampshire primary, Trump has shifted focus to a general election mode, targeting President Joe Biden and the emerging bipartisan border deal. Despite this, he hasn't hesitated to criticize Haley, who believes the former President is "totally unhinged."

According to opinion poll analysis by the website FiveThirtyEight, the GOP frontrunner is far ahead of his opponent in South Carolina.

Internet reacts to Nikki Haley's remarks

Hardly impressed by Haley's delayed attacks against Trump, netizens claimed she would eventually bend the knee.

One user stated, "And yet she’ll still pardon him and vote for him."

Another remarked, "Sigh. She will bend the knee."

"Yet, she's promised to pardon him," a third user added. A fourth questioned, "I agree with her on that, but... hasn't she said she would vote for Trump in a general election?"

One user claimed, "Yes, he has a temper, but he did a damn good job."

"At least, she’s telling the truth now. Still, don’t want her anywhere, near the Presidency," added another.
